Aisling Kerr, our GDA, will be hosting both a Foundation and an Award One Coaching Course over the next couple of months at the Irish Cultural Centre in Canton. I am awaiting confirmation on a second date from the ICC but as of now, one course will be held on Sunday, October 24th (beginning at approx. 8/9 AM). The second course will likely be held in November.
In order to assess which course may be most beneficial to run first and to schedule accordingly, it would be extremely ifyou could let us know if you will be participating in these courses. All coaches need to have a Foundation and Level One to coach at CYC and other tournaments. Why not get this done early?
Please reply to email@example.com if you able to attend. It would be great to get new faces to attend and be ready for the spring.

It is with much regret that I write to notify you that the 2021 Continental Youth Championships has been cancelled. After extensive thought, research, and discussion it was determined that we will be unable to properly plan, organize and carry out a tournament of such magnitude with the expected COVID restrictions in place. The health and safety of our players and families is of utmost importance to us and the pandemic creates barriers we are unable to overcome. Please know that we did not make this decision lightly and are extremely disappointed that the event cannot proceed.
With participants and officials from all over the United States, Canada and Ireland, the CYC faces unique challenges related to funding, safety, accommodations, and transportation. While we are deeply saddened to see another year without Gaelic sports being played on such a large scale, we are hopeful that any local tournaments and leagues will be well attended by the clubs within each Division. We are also hopeful that 2022 will see the tournament return in full capacity.
We appreciate the interest expressed by families for a 2021 tournament and are heartened by the continued commitment to Gaelic sports. We are also appreciative of the efforts made by the Chicago Host Committee who had begun preparations in anticipation of hosting this year’s event.
We wish you well and cannot wait to see you out on the field soon.
