The Irish Sports Youth League of Boston is a youth athletic club that teaches, organizes and participates in four of the greatest games in the world, Gaelic Football, Ladies Football, Hurling & Camogie.

Gaelic Football and Hurling are the national sports of Ireland and the oldest field sports played in Europe.  The skills and movements inherent in Gaelic games are similar and transferrable to just about every team sport played by kids today.

The ISYL is a non-profit organization whose mission is to bring the excitement of Gaelic games to children of all ages.

Members are our players, families, coaches, managers, referees and supporters.   We welcome all individuals interested in the continued development of the Gaelic games or those seeking more information.

Players range in age from U5, U7, U9, U11, U13, U15 to U17.  Programs are open to girls and boys. Our players come from all over the Greater Boston area.

We offer an Indoor Training Program in the winter from January to the first weekend in April.

Our season begins the second weekend in April and runs until Labor Day.

We practice at the Irish Cultural Centre in Canton, MA. Home of the Boston GAA.

Our club participates in the local divisional tournament against clubs from Hartford, CT, Springfield, MA, Worcester, MA, Portland, ME, Dorchester and Milton, MA.  We also travel to New Haven, CT, Philadelphia, PA and New York to tournaments.

The ISYL participates in the Continental  Youth Championships, the largest Gaelic games tournament outside of Ireland.  The CYC is held the last week in July or first week in August in a selected Host City (San Francisco, Chicago, Boston, New York or Philadelphia).  Over 2,000 players participate in this tournament and compete against teams from the United States and Canada.

The continued development of our players, coaches and referees is encouraged. Camps and clinics are organized by the Northeast Divisional Games Development Officer throughout the year.  Individuals interested in coaching or assisting, volunteering as an official, etc. are welcome.  Introductory (no experience or knowledge of the game necessary) and Advanced trainings are available.

For more information, please any of our Board Members or join our email list.  All inquiries will be responded to within 24 hours.

Thank you for your interest in the ISYL. We welcome all players and families to come out and see what we are all about!
